Chiefs Chronicles: Special Mini Raiders Week Edition- 2024 Season Week 13
My Prediction, The Chiefs Are Getting Better... On Offense, Just Under The Wire, and That's It Because I'm Out of Time!
My Prediction
It’s Raiders Week! The Chiefs are so far past due for a blowout win, that it’s nearly impossible that they won’t obliterate the Raiders today. Plus, Taylor’s there!
Pacheco is back. Mahomes is on the upswing (a little on that below). Kelce is also due and he loves playing the Raiders. Noah Gray is on an improbable touchdown tear. Xavier Worthy is trending up. DHop has had another week to learn the playbook.
Let’s not forget about the biggest thing, either. The defense has been pushed around more a little lately and they’re lining up against a not-great Raiders offense. Spags is going to have guys rushing from all over the place and Charles Omenihu’s return will give the D-Line the boost that they have needed for weeks.
Chiefs win in epic blowout fashion: 52-3
Hey, what have I got to lose?
The Chiefs Are Getting Better... On Offense
You’ve seen it over he last few weeks, but you may not have noticed how much better the offense has gotten. And it’s gotten better mainly:
Because Mahomes.
“Because Mahomes” is a phrase guaranteed to make every other defensive coordinator in the league’s blood run cold. I love it!
Here’s just a little proof that he’s getting right:
Chiefs First 6 Games:
Patrick Mahomes TD/INT- 6/8
Now compare those awful numbers to these:
Chiefs Last 5 Games:
Patrick Mahomes TD/INT- 12/3
Patrick’s been like a certain all-time great Chicago Bull (no, not Jordan- seems like you could only use Pippen) in the classic video game NBA Jam:
He’s On FIRE!!!🔥🔥🔥
Just Under The Wire
Well, I made it by the skin of my teeth this week. Been busy with other obligations and it’s a Friday game. C’mon, NFL. I don’t love doing Chiefs Chronicles this last-minute.
I’ll probably write another one before next week. Until then enjoy the game and, as always…
It’s a long shot, but Mahomes may have enough time to steal the MVP award. There seems to be a new emerging candidate each week, although I still think it’s Lamar’s trophy to lose, but Patrick is starting to light it up again. We shall see.
